About Us

Historical Research Manifested In-Person.

We provide in-person living history presentations, including interactive life-ways demonstrations, first-person dramatic performances, show-and-tell (audio-visual enhanced lectures), and interpretive walks, hikes, and tours. We also conduct "teach the teachers" workshops for history educators and historical interpreters at parks and historic sites.

Highly Qualified Educators

We know that history lessons stick with you when you have an excellent teacher. That is why our living history interpreters have conducted over 30 years of research into their subjects and continually update their knowledge base. We are passionate about history and nature, personally engaging, and eager to connect you to your local history.

Wide Variety of Subjects

Our focal historic periods are:

-Late prehistoric/proto-historic (17th century)

-18th century (First Nations perspectives)

-19th cent. (Civil War non-combatants and post Civil War logging era)

We explore with you the connections between cultural history and natural history.

Cultural Appreciation, not Cultural Appropriation

We show and impart appreciation for all the historic cultures we teach about. Our living history demonstrations of the uses of cultural artifacts are informed by archaeological interpretations and scholarly research. Those of our living history interpreters who are not appointed representatives of modern, federally recognized tribes or state recognized tribes, do not present themselves as such. Those of us who are not members of modern tribes do not represent any of our self-manufactured artifact replicas as being made by modern tribal members. None of our interpreters manufacture replicas of items used in religious ceremonies adhered to by modern tribal councils that are different from our own religious ceremonies. Nor do we demonstrate religious practices of modern tribes. We recognize the innate curiosity of humans towards all things cultural, including religion, so we handle that very personal subject with the respect and reverence it is due.
